Do you dream of becoming a filmmaker? This is your chance to join fellow aspiring storytellers and filmmakers for an immersive dive into the world of animation. During this week-long camp, with the guidance of professional filmmakers and teaching artists, students will collaborate with each other and gain valuable hands-on experience as they craft individual stories through many styles of Stop Motion: Pixilation, Cut Out and Puppet animation, Object Motion, Claymation, and 2D Computer Generated Imagery. It’s an exciting hands-on experience with plenty of arts and crafts to keep the team engaged in the storytelling journey. We will also use Adobe Creative Cloud Software to composite all the animated elements together.

CAMPAMENTO DE CINE DE VERANO CON ASPEN FILM

¿Sueñas con convertirte en cineasta? Esta es tu oportunidad para unirte a otros narradores y cineastas para sumergirte en el mundo de la animación. Durante una semana los estudiantes serán guiados  por  cineastas profesionales y artistas docentes, colaborarán entre sí y obtendrán una valiosa experiencia práctica mientras crean historias individuales a través de diversos estilos de Stop Motion: pixilación, recorte, animación de títeres,  movimiento de objetos, animación con plastilina e imágenes 2D generadas por computadora. Es una experiencia práctica emocionante con muchas artes y manualidades para mantener al equipo involucrado en el viaje de la narración. También usaremos el software Adobe Creative Cloud para componer todos los elementos animados juntos.

Este campamento inmersivo de una semana está diseñado para adolescentes que tienen curiosidad por aprender a expresarse a través de narraciones animadas. Los estudiantes  aprenderán el manejo de títeres como una forma de representación teatral que implica la manipulación de títeres y objetos inanimados para crear una película animada corta. Los participantes experimentarán lo que es ser parte de un equipo creativo y se divertirán probando cosas nuevas. Los estilos utilizados serán animación 2D, stop motion y manipulación de títeres.

Cada estudiante está involucrado en cada paso del proceso. Aspen Film se asocia con el departamento de Artes Cinematográficas de Aurora Community College y el Red Brick Center, proporcionando educadores bilingües (español/inglés) experimentados para enseñar en los campamentos. Los grupos son reducidos  1:5 para garantizar que cada participante reciba atención individual y personalizada.

ANIMATION Film Camp with Aspen Film and the Redbrick Center for the Arts

This one-week, full-day, immersive camp is designed for teens who are curious and serious about learning to express themselves through animated storytelling. Kids will learn puppetry as a form of theater performance that involves the manipulation of puppets and inanimate objects to create a short animated film. Participants will experience what it’s like to be part of a creative team, and have fun trying new things! The styles used will be 2D animation, stop motion, and puppetry. Each camper is involved in every step of the process. Aspen Film partners with the Aurora Community College Cinematic Arts Department to provide experienced, bi-lingual (Spanish/English) educators to teach the camps. The staff to camper ratio is under 1:5 to ensure each participant gets individual attention.

ART EDUCATORS

Matt Baxter

Matt is a Denver-based filmmaker who believes in the positive impact of quality original work. Specializing in post-production, Matt’s work has aired on Rocky Mountain PBS numerous times. Focused on fulfilling his clients’ creative vision, he has collaborated with the National Governors Association, Colorado Office of Economic Development and the Colorado Secretary of State's office. Matt also serves as a post production instructor at the Colorado Film School, which has been nationally recognized as one of the top film programs in the country.

MATT BAXTER  es un cineasta especializado en postproducción que radica en Denver. Matt está convencido que el trabajo original y de calidad tiene un impacto positivo, su trabajo  se ha transmitido en Rocky Mountain PBS en numerosas ocasiones. Está centrado en cumplir la visión creativa de sus clientes y ha colaborado con la Asociación Nacional de Gobernadores, la Oficina de Desarrollo Económico de Colorado y la oficina del Secretario de Estado de Colorado. Matt también se desempeña como instructor de postproducción en la Escuela de Cine de Colorado, que ha sido reconocida a nivel nacional como uno de los mejores programas cinematográficos del país.

Livier Cruz Guerrero

Education Coordinator & Teaching Artist

 Livier Cruz, Mexican actress, puppet maker, entertainer and children monitor. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication & Media Arts, and she has a formal Theater training in Spain and Mexico City. Her personal interest and passion focus on the Performing Arts and entertainment. She is happy to be part of Aspen Film as Education Coordinator. 

 Livier Cruz, actriz y productora de espectáculos infantiles. Licenciada en Ciencias de la Comunicación, con formación teatral en España y Ciudad de México. Su interés personal y pasión se centran en las artes escénicas y el entretenimiento. Es Coordinadora Educativa en el Aspen Film Fest.
