Bauhaus Costume Workshops
Red Brick Center for the Arts is excited to join the Roaring Fork Valley in the international celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus. In 2019, numerous local organizations will collaborate on events to commemorate this modernist art school, honor its impact on Aspen and reignite the creative power that began a century ago.
Come join us to create your own fantastical costume to wear to the Bauhaus Ball at the Wheeler Opera House. The Bauhaus school known for their minimalist design, also put on fabulous costume parties in the 1920’s. Not restrained in modernist fashion, Bauhaus costumes were flamboyant, sculptural and truly works of art.
Art Educator and fashion designer, Mirjam Rosner will help participants create a costume to wear to the ball. Participants can take 1 class or multiple classes allowing for more creation time and instruction. Basic supplies in the Bauhaus colors will be provided. Students are encouraged to bring fabric, materials and ornamentation that they would like to specifically use on their costume. Check out art educator and fashion designer, Mirjam Rosner pinterest board for inspiration.
