2025 EXHIBITIONS

The Red Brick Center for the Arts invites artists living in Colorado to apply for a 2025 exhibition. We aim to recognize the incredible art being made in the state and present innovative shows that feature a range of artistic expression, mediums, and perspectives. Our gallery programming includes exhibitions, artist lectures, and events. Through these we act as a conduit in creating a vital network of artistic exchange and discovery.

We challenge Colorado artists to create your best work and share it with us. We promise to curate fantastic shows and give opportunity to your artistic work. We are seeking 2D and 3D artworks across all genres and artistic mediums. In addition to traditional mediums, we are looking to highlight textiles, ceramics, printmaking, craft works, sculpture and nontraditional mediums. Red Brick primarily exhibits 2 - 5 person group shows. From the submissions, the Gallery Committee will select and curate the artists they feel will make for a relatable, dynamic grouping.

Guidelines

  • Proposal must be for artworks that have not been previously exhibited at the Red Brick.

  • Submissions will be considered for either the Main Gallery or West Gallery.

  • 2D and 3D artworks across all genres and artistic mediums will be considered.

  • If accepted, artists will be required to agree to terms listed in the Exhibition Agreement (see below for link to the agreement).

Submission Requirements Include

  • Artist Statement

  • Artist Biography Statement

  • Optional resume or CV

  • Optional artist website URL and/or social media URL

  • Minimum of 8 images of different pieces of artworks. FILES MUST BE NAMED WITH THE TITLE, SIZE and MEDIUM of the ARTWORK DEPICTED. Images should be of the artworks that will be exhibited, or may be of similar works which the artist is proposing to make. Only artworks that are in the same style, subject matter, and medium presented in the application will be considered for the exhibition. Allowable file types include: pdf, jpeg, tif, mov

  • Applicants will be given notice by February 1, 2025


Aspen City Hall Exhibition

The Red Brick Center for the Arts invites artists living in Colorado to submit up to 4 pieces of artworks to be considered for exhibition in Aspen's City Hall. Selected artworks will be exhibited for a two year period from May 2025 - April 2027. Artists will be awarded a $2000 stipend for their participation.

Artwork We Are Looking For
Encouraging an inclusive representation of experiences and voices, the program aims to present a broad range of artistic and cultural expressions. Additionally, the program provides an opportunity to present art that speaks to values and topics important to Aspen. Special consideration will be given to artworks that loosely relates to several key concepts: the local and regional environment, experiences in the Mountain West, and support human connection and community building.
 

Selection Criteria

  • Artists living in Colorado are eligible for this opportunity.

  • Types of artwork that qualify for this opportunity include: painting, print, photography, drawing, textile, collage, bas-relief, ceramic, mosaic, and metal. 

  • Works must be hung on a wall with an 8" depth maximum.

  • Two-dimensional artwork that fits within the following dimensions will be prioritized: 75"W x 60"H x 8"D or smaller. A diptych or small grouping of artworks can be submitted as 1 piece and must fit within the same dimensional perimeters.

  • Artworks exhibited must not demonstrate eroticism or extreme violence and must be suitable for all viewers.

  • Artworks that create sound, require special maintenance needs during the exhibition period, block, hinder or disrupt the use of the space and facility will not be accepted.

  • Artworks may be framed or unframed. A framing stipend is available up to a certain amount.

  • Artist may submit a proposal for a newly created work. Artist must submit examples of artworks that are similar in subject matter, theme, medium and size for consideration and include a detailed description of the proposed piece.

  • Artist may submit up to 4 artworks for consideration. It is encouraged to submit at least 2 images of each artwork. A diptych or small grouping of artworks can be submitted as 1 piece. In the text box, applicants must include:  

  • For a proposal for a newly created work, artist must submit a detailed description and images of similar artworks.


Accepted Artworks

  • Selected artists will be awarded a $2000 stipend for participation.

  • If needed, a shipping and framing stipend is available up to a certain amount. 

  • Participating artists are required to sign an exhibition agreement. An example agreement can be found HERE.

  • Accepted artworks will be installed in May 2025 and on view through April 2027.

  • The City of Aspen will install artworks for the exhibition.

2025 Colorado Juried Exhibition

Red Brick Center for the Arts is pleased to announce the 2025 Colorado Juried Exhibition. Artists living in Colorado are invited to submit up to 3 original artworks created within the past 3 years. Works in all mediums are eligible (Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture, Drawing, Photography, Ceramic, Fiber, Functional, Digital, Mixed Media, New Genres).

Awards: Recognition in the amount of $500, $300, and $200 will be awarded to 3 selected artists respectively.  

Criteria: Artist may submit up to 3 original artworks for consideration. Artist must live in Colorado. Artwork must not have been previously exhibited at the Red Brick Center.

Dates: 2025 Colorado Juried Exhibition dates, June 5 - August 1, 2025. Submission notification will be emailed by March 18. Artworks accepted for the exhibition should be delivered to the Red Brick Center between May 19 - 20. Unsold works must be picked up on August 4.  An opening reception will be held on June 5, 5-7pm at Red Brick Center for the Arts.
