Red Brick Center for the Arts is excited to share about a group of local artists creating the Aspen Space Station Project. These artists are working at the intersection between art, activism, science and philosophy. Through play, creativity and curiosity, they believe the future can be transformed.
August 14 - September 16, the Aspen Space Station will be hosting events at their location on Midnight Mine. Check HERE to view events and directions.
On August 14th, the Red Brick Center for the Arts will be offering an art activation at the Space Station with Amy Beidleman. Amy will take beginners through experts on a creative journey of drawing and then watercolor painting the landscape of the new frontier- the Aspen Space Station. Imaginative embellishments to the scene are highly recommended. Participation is on a first-come, first-serve basis for up to 20 people. Supplies will be provided by the Red Brick Center for the Arts or feel free to bring you own watercolor supplies.
Aspen Space Station is located on Midnight Mine Road, on the backside of Aspen Mountain. It’s 10 minutes from the Aspen Roundabout. Put “Aspen Space Station” into Google Maps — that will get you the exact coordinates. Really.
DRIVE: If you have 4WD or AWD, you can drive straight to Aspen Space Station. Please carpool; parking is super tight.
HIKE: Drive up the bottom of Midnight Mine Road to #786, where there is a large snowplow turnaround. Park in this vicinity and hike 1.4 miles along a rough dirt road to Aspen Space Station.
The Aspen Space Station is not an event organized or produced by the Red Brick Center for the Arts.
