Art weaves together a tapestry of influences, merging bold, unapologetic colors with raw, untamed compositions, all set against the backdrop of nature's primal beauty. "Each color experiment I embark on is a journey through the vivid, sweeping landscapes inspired by the fearless spirit of American landscape expressionism and European fauvists. Artists like Maynard Dixon, Georges Braque, Dufy and Matisse  have profoundly shaped my vision via their bold use of color and form, guiding me to a place where every visual experiment speaks not just of form and color, but of emotion, energy, and untold stories."

"Forty-five years ago, my path as an artist began to take shape in the timeless streets of Florence, where I studied the Italian Renaissance. That experience laid a deep foundation for my painting, but it wasn’t until I returned to the U.S. in my twenties that I discovered a new world—one filled with the vibrant intensity of late 19th and 20th-century painters. These new influences opened my eyes to a richness I had never imagined. You’ll notice how these new works stand in contrast to my earlier black-and-white photography, which echoes the stark, gripping realism of early 20th-century American photography. I find myself drawn to both realms—where one world speaks in shades of light and shadow, and the other bursts into vivid color and emotion."

"Today, my artistic journey continues to unfold through the lens of my camera, but my true exploration lies in the digital realm, where I recreate the colors my mind sees—colors beyond what any camera can capture. When I digitally paint a source image, I’m not merely replicating what is seen; I’m recording what my spine feels. What you see is more than an image—it’s an emotional experience, a translation of synesthesia, where my senses intermingle, and the ordinary world is transformed into something extraordinary."

In every piece, I aim to give you a glimpse into a deeper reality—one that speaks to the soul and resonates in ways the eye alone cannot grasp.
